Native Americans

I read books. Students read books. We looked at maps and globes. We discussed why Native Americans were originally called Indians. We made tepees out of paper bags thanks to teachingwithnancy. We wrote a story using symbols and pictures. We practiced making and identifying patterns then the students made their own pattern on their headband. We learned a lot and had a great time. 

Thanksgiving

We are working on super sentences. Students we given the prompt; the turkey flew. We brain stormed adjectives for turkey, adverbs for flew, and where. The students expanded the sentence three times and finally published their sentence along with a turkey.
