Action Verbs

Teaching language skills has never been my favorite part of teaching language arts. I prefer teaching writing. So.....I've been working on spicing my language skills up a bit. Even though the water shuts off when I sing in the shower, I love to sing during class. This is the reason most of my kids work hard to pass, lol. So I made up a lesson for teaching action words. This part of my lesson is on identification as well as brainstorming action words. I have to say my students and I quiet enjoyed the song and they even wrote their own. We played a modification of the headband game. It was so cool seeing students act out the words but what was even better was hearing them use synonyms and antonyms as clues.
